Customer Recommendations, Family Survey 2017

Dear Shady Oaks Community,

We value your feedback. We especially thank those who answered our first-ever family survey. We had 67 written replies. All had the option of being anonymous. 53 had signed names. Replies came in from Avon, Berlin, Bristol, Burlington, Canton, Farmington, Harwinton, Middletown, Plainville, Riverton, Southington, Stafford Springs, Terryville, West Hartford, Wolcott, a town in Massachusetts, and a town in New York. This letter shares our results so far.

In December, we sent surveys to 34 current resident families.  We received 19 replies.  They had these results (NA = no answer was circled):

2. We strive to provide great skilled nursing.  Do we?       Y=100%     N=0%
3. We strive to provide a cozy home.  Are we cozy?           Y-100%      N=0%
4. Do you want activities calendars e-mailed to you?        Y=26%       N=71%
5. Would you or someone you know like to volunteer?     Y=5%         N=84%      NA=11%
6. Have you visited our new Website and blog articles?    Y=21%       N=79%
7. Would you like Tyson to call you or meet with you?      Y=11%         N=84%      NA=5%

In January, we sent surveys to 112 nearest relatives of previous residents.  We received 48 replies.  They had these results:

1. Would you recommend Shady Oaks to others?              Y=100%       N=0%
2. We strive to provide great skilled nursing.  Did we?       Y=100%      N=0%
3. We strive to provide a cozy home.  Were we cozy?         Y=99%        N=0%        NA=1%
4. We strive to be loyal to residents.  Were we loyal?          Y=99%        N=0%        NA=1%
5. Have you visited our new Website and blog articles?      Y=8%        N=88%      NA=4%
6. Would you or someone you know like to volunteer?       Y=2%          N=85%      NA=13%
7. Would you like Tyson to call you or meet with you?        Y=2%          N=94%      NA=4%

Overall, the results suggest our families would highly recommend Shady Oaks to others. 67 of 67 family respondents said they would do so. The other results also support this. 67 of 67 agreed that we have great nursing. 66 of 67 answered “yes” that we provide a cozy home. Plus, among families of prior residents, 47 of 48 agreed Shady Oaks was loyal. We feel grateful to our residents and families. We promise to continue providing a safe, cozy, and caring home.
