Customer Recommendations, Family Survey 2018

Dear Shady Oaks Community,

We are grateful to those who answered our 2018 survey.  I sent 57 surveys to families of current residents and those here since January 2017.  We had 31 replies.  All had the option of being anonymous.  27 of 31 had signed names.  Replies came from Berlin, Bristol, Burlington, Canton, Farmington, Harwinton, Plainville, Terryville, Waterbury, West Hartford, and Wolcott, plus Colorado and Florida.  This letter shares averages and tallies from all 31 returned surveys.

Overall, our ratings were very positive.  Two surveys included requests for more care options for our highest nursing care residents and our residents on hospice.  Beyond this, thirteen comments expressed praise for our staff and home.  Here are several examples:

“I’ve seen great improvement in [my mother] since she’s been there.  Thanks to Tyson, Ana + the wonderful staff who provide such great care!”

“[My father] enjoyed Shady Oaks and all the staff… Thanks to all of you for bringing the smiles and happiness back to him.  I can never thank you enough…”

“Mom could be tough but your staff… managed to win mom’s confidence and affection.  I miss my mom every day but I do not have any regret about placing her in your care…”

“Just want to say thank you to all the staff that make my mom’s and my days better because of the care and compassion they give to her daily.”

“We are so appreciative of all you do for our aunt.  We feel that she is in the best possible place for her needs.”

“The Shady Oaks Team is absolutely outstanding… My father-in-law resides at a different facility… and Shady Oaks provides considerably better care & value.”
