Farmington and Unionville CT Senior Care &
Shady Oaks Assisted Living
My parents moved to Unionville in 1974 and built Shady Oaks in 1976. I attended West District School, Irving A. Robbins, and Farmington High School. At FHS, I wrestled all four years, and I served as student body president. I left for Yale in 1994, and I joined the Marines in 1999. Year after year, my parents and family developed Shady Oaks assisted living facility. My father passed away in January 2018, and my mother still lives in Unionville. I call her every day. I am also active in veteran events. Every year, I march in our annual Farmington/Unionville Memorial Day parade.
Shady Oaks Assisted Living in Bristol CT is 9 minutes from downtown Unionville and 11 minutes from downtown Farmington. For many years, Shady Oaks was the only Connecticut assisted living home near Farmington. Compared with other homes, we provide higher care (including 2-person lift transfers and 24/7 CNA help) and better communication (more RN hours per resident and the owner is onsite every day).
Each Farmington assisted living home has its own feel. Arden Courts serves seniors with dementia and anxiety in a town-and-park-feel home. Brookdale Gables offers dignified light care apartment senior living in a rustic natural setting. Middlewoods feels independent, warm, and cozy. Farmington Station has stylish apartment living and locked dementia unit for mobile light care seniors. Riverbend (Anthology) is sleek, new, and spacious. In recent years, we have had more than 10 residents move to us from Arden Courts, Brookdale Gables, Middlewoods, Farmington Station, and Riverbend. They choose us when they prioritize higher care.
Here at Shady Oaks assisted living facility, we feel like a real home, or like a bed and breakfast. We provide strong nursing in a cozy and loyal elder care home. We excel at helping seniors with advancing disabilities and non-wandering dementia. We have the lowest prices for high care levels. Plus, we participate in the CT private pay assisted living program (worth $2,600 monthly). Most Farmington homes do not help with this.
