Families Helping Families
My parents are pioneers in seniors care. They began caring for seniors in 1969 and built Shady Oaks in 1976. Shady Oaks was the 2nd licensed assisted living in Connecticut.
We excel at long-term care. Seniors stay with us for many years. They stay even as their needs increase. We have deep experience with hospice comfort care. We support families undergoing difficult transitions.
We also offer respite care. For days or weeks, seniors stay during rehab, caregiver vacation, or home remodeling. Others use respite as a test-run for a longer term stay.
Plus, we offer limited availability $8 per hour day care. Caregivers bring loved ones to stay for any days or hours.
We feel proud of our small-home approach to senior living. 11 of our family members lived happy years here.
Over the last 10 years, our residents and caregiver families arrived from 40+ Connecticut towns & 10+ states.
Most of our residents and caregivers are from Bristol, Farmington, Unionville, Avon, Canton, Plainville, New Britain, Southington, Plantsville, Forestville, Burlington, Berlin, or Waterbury, CT. Others are from further away CT towns and cities: Bolton, Bridgewater, Danbury, Derby, East Haven, Glastonbury, Granby, Hamden, Hartford, Harwinton, Kensington, Litchfield, Middletown, Newington, Newtown, Old Lyme, Oxford, Plymouth, Rocky Hill, Simsbury, South Windsor, Stafford Springs, Terryville, Torrington, Vernon, Watertown, West Hartford, and Wolcott, Connecticut.
