Owner’s Letter

My family has served seniors for 47+ years. Both my grandmothers lived at Shady Oaks. We provide top care.

We offer long-term, hospice, respite, & day services.
We are much less expensive vs. 24 hour in-home care.
We are cozy & higher care vs. most assisted livings.
We are more social & affordable vs. nursing homes.
We have 23 apartments. Our services are private pay.

I value care. I am a Red Cross trained nurse assistant.
I value integrity & service. I am a Marine Iraq veteran.
I value learning. I earned a Yale BA and Harvard PhD.
I value responsiveness. I am the administrator & owner.

I live next door. I am always available to meet with residents, families, & seniors caregivers.  Visit us today.

Very Respectfully,
Tyson Francis Belanger

Families Helping Families

My parents are pioneers in seniors care. They began caring for seniors in 1969 and built Shady Oaks in 1976.  Shady Oaks was the 2nd Assisted Living in Connecticut.

We excel at long-term care.Seniors stay with us for many years. They stay even as their needs increase.  We have deep experience with hospice comfort care and supporting families undergoing difficult transitions.

We also offer respite care.  For days or weeks, seniors stay during rehab, caregiver vacation, or home remodeling.  Others use respite as a test-run for a longer term stay.

We feel proud of our small-home approach to senior living.  11 of our family members lived happy years here.
